Richard Allen on Piano

Richard Allen is a Los Angeles–based pianist, composer, and arranger whose career bridges concert halls, theme parks, and studios. Trained as a classical pianist before studying composition and jazz at California Institute of the Arts and film scoring at UCLA, Richard has spent his life at the keyboard—performing, conducting, and creating music across genres and media.

For over ten years, Richard was a featured pianist at Disneyland, performing in the Golden Horseshoe, The Disneyland Big Band, and the Dixieland Band. He helped create and perform in The Golden Horseshoe Variety Show and later served as Music Director and Conductor for Disney’s “Bill Justice 90th Birthday Gala” and ABC’s The Mike and Maty Show. Beyond Disneyland, he has toured internationally as Music Director for major cruise lines and performed with legends such as the Louis Bellson Big Band, the Buddy Rich Big Band, and Bobby Vinton. Richard served as musical director and arranger for Disney legend, the late Richard M. Sherman and continues to arrange and perform his music today.
